ENGINEER, INSTRUMENT (MOG 12 0049)
The Major duties of the job are as follows:
- Ensure effective operation of the Production Data Management System (PDMS), Integrated Control and Safety System (ICSS), Marine Control and Safety System (MCSS), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Sand Monitoring Systems.
- Ensure all measurement and metering data is properly captured, analyzed, and stored.
- Ensure Custody Metering System equipment are fully functional and its performance is meeting international standards.
- Support field personnel in troubleshooting and recommending possible solutions for problems which require engineering diagnosis or technical investigation.
- Lead onshore and offshore brown field installation and commissioning activities by ensuring installations and/ or changes to instrumentation are completed to relevant codes and practices.
- Planning, coordinate and follow through with various offshore and onshore operations sections to resolve electrical, instrumentation, control and telecommunication problems and ensure safe pre/during/post for shutdown and start-up. operations and optimum usage of resources for better productivity.
- Makes recommendations to management to improve all areas instrumentation engineering.
- Maintenance field instrument and control equipment, and provide engineering direction and support to field personnel.
- Assists in troubleshooting production operations on instrument and control problems.
- Prepare procedures and technical support. Review and revision of P&lD diagrams.
- Monitor instrumentation performance and recommend appropriate improvements where necessary.
- Assist in preparation of the annual budget and monitoring budget performance throughout the year.
- Prepare instrument specification sheets and support the Management of Change (MOC) work and execution.
- Interface with PETRONAS on issues related to Murphy’s compliance to PETRONAS Guidelines for Upstream Activities.
Qualification and Experience:
- University degree in Engineering, preferably Electrical and Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years experience in oil and gas with 5 years in offshore operations.
- Experience in design and construction engineering of offshore processing facilities.
- Production / Operations experience (oil industry).
- Fully trained in the on-site architectural system of the Data Control System, Safety Systems, and knowledge of specialist vendor software packages.
- Some qualification in Micro-Computer Technology.
- Willingness to travel to the field, both onshore and offshore.
HSSE ENGINEER (Environmental) (HSE 12 0009)
The major duties of the job are as follows:
- Support the HSSE Manager to ensure the compliance of all HSE and specifically environmental related Government regulations and Company policies and procedures.
- Support Murphy’s operations in all issues relating to HSSE, to include workplace, technical, operational, and environmental aspects. Serve as the focal point environmental related matters.
- To coordinate the implementation of the HSE Management System (HSE MS) in accordance with the regulatory requirements, HSE Policy, HSE MS, MS Manuals and annual HSE Plan.
- Develop / coordinate HSSE activity plans, manuals, procedures, and standards to ensure that Murphy’s facilities and operational processes pose minimal risk and compliance to regulatory requirements.
- Review and advice operations on environmental related procedures and practices to assure that worksite operations comply with Corporate Murphy HSSE policies and regulatory requirements.
- Plan (including preparation of scope of work and work order request) and coordinate resources required for implementation of environmental programs, initiatives and plans to minimize and prevent environmental pollution.
- Liaison with operational personnel on reporting, investigation and follow-up of incidents to ensure up to date information is obtained, root cause(s) are identified and corrective and/or preventive actions are implemented on a timely manner.
- Prepare periodic reports and presentation on environmental performance for management information, decision-making and reporting as required by various stakeholders. Reports prepared are not limited to Weekly and monthly reports.
- Prepare HSE/environment related tender plans, conduct bid evaluations and prepare technical evaluation reports for other associated services.
Qualification and Experience:
- Degree in an Engineering related discipline or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 – 10 years of working experience in upstream oil & gas.
- Proactive and motivated.
- Strong computer literacy.
- Strong organization skills.
- Fluent in English both written and spoken.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of internationally recognized HSE standards.
- Familiarity with Malaysian Acts and Regulations.
- Valid BOSET / HUET training.
OPERATIONS ENGINEER, PROJECT INTERFACE (MOG 14 0323)
The Major duties of the job are as follows:
- Liaising Project Group on engineering and operational requirements to ensure operability and maintainability of future field facilities.
- Responsible for supervision and interfacing of the technical engineering effort in new projects, while ensuring “fit for purpose” & “right first time” operations for these projects between the Project and Production Groups.
- Responsible for ensuring that Production Operations requirements, and safe Production operating practices and procedures comply with the Murphy Management System, and meet all environmental and legislative requirements. Must be able to pro-actively generate fit for purpose Risk Analysis and be able to effectively communicate Risk — Reward logic to all stakeholders.
- Provide Technical advice into the Operability and Maintainability throughout all phases of the Pre Feed, FEED and Detail Design stages of the Assigned Projects. Where required must be to clearly and professionally write up detailed Procedures to allow execution of any “interface” job tasks that fall within the grey area of Project EPIC — Commissioning — Subsea and Topsides work scopes.
- Develop, plan and submit a proposal for operating the fields that compliments the operation of existing fields and facilities.
- Attend and provide input into the PEP, Hazop, Hazid, EIA and safety management procedures for the assigned Projects.
Qualification and Experience
- Minimum 10 years experience in hydrocarbon production industry environment in a supervisory/management capacity.
- Specific knowledge of oil & gas production, rotating equipment, water injection, gas lift, gas compression, gas conditioning, export metering.
- Strong communication skills for working with, understanding and motivating personnel from diverse cultural backgrounds.
